So what does this mean for you and your business? I’ve heard some say that this is the first sign of the death of advertising and I have to say I completely disagree with that sentiment. I see it as the birth of smarter, more meaningful, and more relevant advertising done in a way that involves more than a flashy image and a clever CTA (Call To Action).
The power of the advertorial has long been understood, but as consumers we’re also getting better at sniffing out BS and having the world’s knowledge in our pocket at all times is making it that much easier. I think we’ll be seeing better, more transparent use of articles, advertorials, and content marketing and as a consumer I truly like that.
